Kevin Glaister

Kevin has studied and practised yoga and meditation for over 30 years and has been teaching in Gloucestershire since 2000. He trained extensively in the Iyengar system, in which he qualified, and while his teaching is rooted in this tradition, it is also informed by other approaches to yoga.

Kevin practises yoga within the context of Mindfulness, rather than Hindu texts and philosophy. Mindfulness Yoga differs from many traditional yoga styles in that it focuses less on achieving precise postures and more on body-mind awareness. Contrary to popular belief, yoga is not just a series of stretching movements - it is an awareness practice designed to still and centre the mind, bringing us out of our thoughts and into our bodies in preparation for meditation.

With regular practice, we learn to listen to and explore the body-mind connection, developing a more harmonious relationship with ourselves and the world around us. A strong, healthy body and a calm, clear, and compassionate mind enable us to live life to its fullest potential.
