Karen discovered Pilates in 1990 at Trevor Blount’s studio in London after a horse-riding accident left her with a back injury. Frequent travel further strained her posture and back, but Pilates had remarkable results, improving her flexibility and posture. She later returned to Pilates after the birth of her twins and discovered Body Control Pilates, a method that inspired her so much she felt compelled to teach it.

Karen believes that her own physical struggles have made her a more compassionate teacher, and she is passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates with others.

A fully qualified and insured Level 3 Matwork Body Control Pilates Teacher since 2014, Karen also holds a Level 3 Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults. She is qualified to teach clients with osteoporosis (Bone Health) and hypermobility-related conditions.

Her classes are mixed ability and suitable for all, from beginners to intermediate students. She can also accommodate those with common age-related conditions such as arthritis, hip, and knee replacements. Karen is dedicated to helping students improve muscle recruitment, achieve core stability, and enhance everyday movement.
