Stroud Yoga Space offers a variety of different yoga styles.
All yoga has the same set of asanas (postures) in common, but there are different ways of interpreting them, and so we have created descriptions of each style that we offer to help you find a style that appeals to you. Often the best way to discover is to try out a few different styles until you find one that resonates with you. We also have a few different forms of Pilates which are also listed below.
Yoga for Children with Developmental Challenges
This small class has it’s roots in Hatha Yoga and the Yoga for the Special Child methodology of Sonia Sumar. We practice gentle and safe yoga that works with the individual through a routine based programme of chanting, breath work, gentle movement, relaxation and mindful meditation. By combining the wisdom of ancient yoga practices with the knowledge of current western psychology and neuroscience we aim to work with the whole person towards mental, emotional, physical and spiritual balance and inner resilience. This style of Yoga is safe for babies and children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Microcephaly, Autism and other developmental and behavioural challenges.
We can also offer one-to-one therapy sessions, groups, classes, trainings and workshops for children, young people, parents/carers of ALL ages and ALL abilities.
