Yin Yoga workshop with Elles Theulen

Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that focuses on the deeper tissues and is particularly beneficial for the joints of the hips and spine. The poses are gentle and passive, mainly floor based, and performed with the muscles relaxed. They are usually held for 3 to 5 minutes to give the connective tissue time to release tension and the joints new breathing space.
In this workshop we will learn about the different elements that are involved in the practice of yin yoga. The physical structure of the joints, the influence of gravity and the breath, the mental attitude of receptivity and equanimity, the energy lines or meridians that run through the body; they all have their part to play.
Then we move into the experience itself, an hour and a half of yin yoga that will lubricate your joints, brighten your mind and replenish your energy levels.
